[205.5s] that we've ever seen, all traveling with extraordinary precision through two large seawalls.
[213.7s] We launch up and over the three coastal wards and there are hundreds of merchant ships
[220.7s] loading and unloading goods from not just around Faerun, but all across the world.
[228.3s] Calumport, among other things, is a place of vast trade of spices, alchemical supplies,
[234.5s] gems, and most importantly, magic items.
[238.3s] Calumport, the city of glory, is a town that revolves around the abundance of magic
[245.0s] items, both common every day and, for the right price, items you can't find
[250.9s] anywhere else.
[253.2s] We see the Kalashite Navy preparing the fleet and recruiting various locals.
[259.6s] Some 140,000 people walk the streets of Calumport and as we soar above its streets
[265.6s] we see the city's gorgeous architecture of tall arches, squat domes, and slender
[272.0s] minarets reaching high into the hot, clear sky.
[278.6s] The scene we saw was from yesterday.
[283.6s] We see a flash in the merchant ward and runes appear in the sand and Flint and Thea,
[292.6s] dressed in her khaki shorts, tank top, and gossamer cape.
[296.6s] Flint in his active sandals, Tommy Bahama Hawaiian shirt, and big shorts, not cargo shorts.

[308.6s] appear in the middle of the merchant ward.
[312.6s] And as the light from the runes fades and explosions sounds off beside them
[318.6s] and they are thrown into the wall of a nearby building.
[324.6s] Rushing all around them are the people of Calumport, being chased by an undead army.

[334.6s] Jesus, didn't we just leave an undead army someplace else?

[398.6s] I throw the thrower and it zings past the first couple of dudes that are running towards us

[413.6s] as he's drawing it back his bow with his right hand
[416.6s] and knocks the bow out of his hands.

[419.6s] The group rushing towards you kind of scatters.
[423.6s] The one cocking the bow, it goes wide and breaks the bow
[429.6s] and then it rushes back to you.

[441.6s] And I hit a beam of crackling blue energy streaks towards
[448.6s] that hit the chest of the three, any archers.

[533.6s] She's dressed like everyone else around
[536.6s] in that she's wearing sort of loose linen pants.
[538.6s] They're of a very fine quality though
[541.6s] and a red tunic with gold embroidery all over it.
[546.6s] She is human, but maybe not quite.
[552.6s] There's something a little bit unusual
[554.6s] just about the way her features sit,
[556.6s] but you're busy.
[557.6s] You probably don't notice any of that.
[559.6s] What you do notice is this huge wave of divine energy
[566.6s] that emanates from where she stands.
[570.6s] She steps out and this wave crushes into these undead
[574.6s] and sends them sprawling back into the street.
[578.6s] You have a moment of reprieve.
[580.6s] I whip my head back to see.

[585.6s] and then I look over to see who's there.

[962.6s] rumbling down through the ground itself,

[971.6s] you are to go up.

[975.6s] You head up and Yen Bull opens up another
[978.6s] trap door and it opens

[984.6s] a dimly lit room.

[1017.6s] And as the three of you step up and into this room,
[1020.6s] the trap door closes behind you.

[1582.6s] And then he begins moving his hands
[1585.6s] and softly speaking to himself.

[1597.6s] Like it was right outside the door and he dropped
[1600.6s] a curtain that allowed the sound to come
[1603.6s] rushing in and you hear it crash

[1612.6s] filled light come from his hands
[1615.6s] and it coats the staircase
[1618.6s] and then the sound softens again.

[1892.6s] that is like a full on bar brawl.

[1943.6s] where a massive wall has been erected.

[1949.6s] swarms of undead crashing into
[1952.6s] and climbing up over.
[1955.6s] And ahead of you, you see a
[1958.6s] boat waiting
[1961.6s] on the edge of
[1964.6s] the coast. This looks like a small river
[1967.6s] boat. It's crashing up against the shore.
[1970.6s] And Mannix yells up and says,
[1973.6s] I will take you up the river to Kelta.
[1976.6s] I will be joining you because my home
[1979.6s] is no longer there.
[1982.6s] More of the Merrier.
[1985.6s] Make a break for it?
[1988.6s] The four of you begin to run towards the boat.
[1991.6s] You look behind you
[1994.6s] and
[1997.6s] the sounds of wings
[2000.6s] come up and out of the mass that is surrounding

[2006.6s] giant, zombified
[2009.6s] vulture-like birds
[2012.6s] come flying up and they begin
[2015.6s] to soar around the city
[2018.6s] and make a stealth
[2021.6s] check, everybody. At disadvantage because
[2024.6s] you're in kind of an open area.
[2027.6s] Okay, good. I rolled even lower than my 10.
[2030.6s] First one was a 19. Oh, wow.
[2033.6s] How about an 8? Second was a 25, so we'll go 19.

[2039.6s] Both Yenbul and Thea are yelling,

[2045.6s] She's on the way to the boat.
[2048.6s] Two of the birds, if that's what you want to call them,
[2051.6s] catch sight of you and
[2054.6s] begin diving down towards you as you're
[2057.6s] running for the ship. What do you do?

[2066.6s] How big are these birds?
[2069.6s] The closer they get, the bigger they get.

[2075.6s] they look like vultures, but they're like the size
[2078.6s] of a pterodactyl.

[2084.6s] 25 to 30 feet. Alright, I'm going to
[2087.6s] call lightning upon them.
[2090.6s] I stop running for a moment
[2093.6s] and my feet kind of like
[2096.6s] skid stop in the sand.
[2099.6s] I put my hands out and a crackle of energy
[2102.6s] comes from them and then a storm cloud
[2105.6s] appears over top of these two
[2108.6s] bird things in the sky.
[2114.6s] A bolt of lightning flashes down from that cloud
[2117.6s] and each creature within five feet of that point,
[2120.6s] which I'm making
[2123.6s] over top one of the birds, I guess.
[2126.6s] Must make a dexterity saving throw.
[2129.6s] That's going to be a 13 and an 18.
[2132.6s] The 18 will save? The 13 will not?
[2135.6s] Is there stormy conditions

[2183.6s] gets like blown off and it spirals down

[2189.6s] takes a huge hit and you see it kind of
[2192.6s] smoldering but still flies towards you and Manix
[2195.6s] says get to the boat.
[2198.6s] Yeah, let's hustle.
[2201.6s] The three of you run and you sense that Manix
[2204.6s] turns and is standing
[2207.6s] almost like playing chicken with this thing.
[2210.6s] You see it begin to
[2213.6s] careen down towards Manix.
[2216.6s] I pull out a necklace from in my shirt
[2219.6s] and start rubbing it and
[2222.6s] sort of close my eyes and speak to Ithgara
[2225.6s] and spirits come out to
[2228.6s] protect us.
[2231.6s] They look angelic.
[2234.6s] So all of my friends are unaffected
[2237.6s] by this but the bird's speed
[2240.6s] is halved and then when
[2243.6s] it enters the area for the first time, which I assume
[2246.6s] it probably will soon, it needs to make a wisdom
[2249.6s] saving throw.
[2252.6s] So it's like an area around each person?
[2255.6s] Yeah, 15 feet.
[2258.6s] We'll say the bird keeps going
[2261.6s] speed halved.
[2264.6s] Almost as
[2267.6s] so you rub an amulet, is it obvious that you're doing

[2276.6s] little angelic creatures come out to protect us

[2318.6s] and reach for an amulet and then
[2321.6s] you're surrounded by these spirit

[2327.6s] Mannix also and this bird begins to slow down
[2330.6s] and as it gets near, two things happen.
[2333.6s] One, it has to make a saving throw for your
[2336.6s] spirit thing. Yes?
[2339.6s] Sorry what kind of saving throw was it?
[2342.6s] It's going to be 19.
[2345.6s] Jesus, fucking smart bird.
[2348.6s] Rolled really well. So nothing happens?

[2354.6s] which is 13 so it'll take

[2360.6s] Radiant damage. So as the bird enters
[2363.6s] this spirit's sphere
[2366.6s] you see its beak and its head begin
[2369.6s] to singe and as it gets close to
[2372.6s] Mannix, Mannix raises its hands
[2375.6s] and in an instant it turns, just like
[2378.6s] right angle turns away from Mannix
[2381.6s] and begins to soar up into the sky
[2384.6s] and lets out this shriek, this hideous
[2387.6s] unbearable shriek and then
[2390.6s] begins to like ash
[2393.6s] away and fall back to the ground
[2396.6s] as it's going up into the sky almost like it's burning
[2399.6s] away but there's no flames
[2402.6s] it's just dissolving and pouring down
[2405.6s] onto the sand around you. Mannix turns
[2408.6s] and says, what are you waiting for?
[2411.6s] I'm already in the boat.
[2414.6s] I said I run to the boat. You get to the boat
[2417.6s] and you see and hear the city
[2420.6s] almost collapsing behind you
[2423.6s] screams coming, boats are
[2426.6s] rushing out of the port into
[2429.6s] into the open sea
[2432.6s] you climb aboard the boat, Mannix gets behind
[2435.6s] the wheel and says, I can't see over the
[2438.6s] steering wheel. We need to go
[2441.6s] over to the river.
[2444.6s] Why would you get behind the wheel, Mannix?
[2447.6s] Nobody else was.
[2450.6s] Flint, you want to drive?
[2453.6s] I mean I'm not too much taller.
[2456.6s] Alright, I'm into this, let's get on here. Everyone hold onto

[2499.6s] as you enter the open mouth of the Calumport
[2502.6s] River. And if anyone was to look
[2505.6s] at me right now as I sort of watch my beloved
[2508.6s] city under attack
[2511.6s] my eyes are sort of glowing a strange
[2514.6s] color as I as I fight back
[2517.6s] tears.
[2520.6s] I don't look right at you because like you know
[2523.6s] you're having an emotional moment but I put my hand
[2526.6s] on your shoulder and give you a squeeze.
[2529.6s] And as I do that
[2532.6s] I whisper a little
[2535.6s] a little something and I take a short read
[2538.6s] from my pocket and I
[2541.6s] kind of break it up in my hand and I've cast
[2544.6s] water breathing on all of us
[2547.6s] that will last for 24 hours.

[2692.6s] interesting I've seen soulbound creatures before

[2935.6s] Pull up and tie off and you enter

[2941.6s] and Mannix leads you through
[2944.6s] the streets of this town
[2947.6s] that he referred to as Kel-Tar.

[2953.6s] I think at least Thea walks quietly
[2956.6s] and just kind of observes and is
[2959.6s] ready for you know just in case an undead pops
[2962.6s] out from behind somewhere.
[2965.6s] Walking through up to the city and through
[2968.6s] the streets you see there's primarily farmland
[2971.6s] in and around this area.
[2974.6s] Calumport
[2977.6s] was surrounded by desert
[2980.6s] it's a little more greenery the more you went up the river
[2983.6s] and Mannix
[2986.6s] leads you to what looks like
[2989.6s] from the outside an old
[2992.6s] worn down temple.
[2995.6s] And begins
[2998.6s] walking up the steps to the large
[3001.6s] double doors.
[3004.6s] He pulls them open
[3007.6s] dirt and dust falls down
[3010.6s] from the hinges
[3013.6s] and from the frame around it
[3016.6s] and ushers you inside.
[3019.6s] I have not been to this temple before
[3022.6s] I have been to Kel-Tar and sampled the figs
[3025.6s] and the wine and the oils but I
[3028.6s] have not seen this temple before.
[3031.6s] This temple doesn't look like it's seen many people
[3034.6s] recently either.

[3040.6s] of the broken god.

[3046.6s] find a portal that will take you
[3049.6s] to marching mountains which will take you to the
[3052.6s] entrance to Shangri-La's

[3070.6s] Mannix leads you up the center aisle of this temple

[3085.6s] you see a single candle lit down at the end
[3088.6s] of this aisle that you're walking down
[3091.6s] and the closer you get the more the light
[3094.6s] emanates and the closer to the light you get
[3097.6s] the more the room looks new

[3103.6s] it's been kept up over the years.

[3109.6s] walks to the candle and grabs it
[3112.6s] and says follow me.
[3115.6s] He leads you down a flight of stairs

[3121.6s] cellar and inside there are
[3124.6s] runes on the wall.

[3130.6s] and runs a hand along them and
[3133.6s] although they look new under this light
[3136.6s] that is being produced by
[3139.6s] this candle, dust
[3142.6s] falls from his hands you can hear it hit the ground
[3145.6s] you can't see it but you can hear it
[3148.6s] and the runes begin to glow as he runs his hand along them
[3151.6s] and the stone wall
[3154.6s] in the middle of them begins to glow
[3157.6s] a soft blue swirling with black.
[3160.6s] He says when you're ready

[3253.6s] but just in space.
[3256.6s] And as Manix steps through
[3259.6s] the portal sucks behind
[3262.6s] and it closes.
[3265.6s] You look around and take in your surroundings
[3268.6s] and as the clouds begin to move
[3271.6s] and swirl around the tops of these mountains
[3274.6s] there is a crack that comes through and a beam of light
[3277.6s] from the sun comes down and hits your general area.
[3280.6s] You look up and beyond the clouds
[3283.6s] as they begin to part you see
[3286.6s] a massive pyramid
[3289.6s] floating high in the sky
[3292.6s] above the mountains.
